Columbus Day Now Renamed Indigenous People's Day

New York became one of the first states to recognize Columbus Day as Indigenous People's Day.  Indigenous People's Day is a holiday that celebrates and honors native American people and commemorates their histories and culture.   Columbus's campaigns throughout Central America and the Caribbean Sea resulted in the killing and enslavement of many indigenous people.  Indigenous people of Mexico include:  Nathua,  the largest group of indigenous people of Mexico, Mixtec, the Purepecha, and the Totonac. , Check your local stations and YouTube channel for ways to celebrate Indigenous People's Day.
